DLD College London

DLD College in Westminster

DLD College London is an independent fee-paying sixth form college situated in the heart of London overlooking Westminster and the Thames River. There are 440 students at the college, some of whom are preparing for A Levels, some studying for their GCSEs, and some studying for BTECs and International Foundation Programmes. The college admits day students as well as boarders.

A key feature of the school are very small class sizes. The school focuses on each student as an individual, offering each person the very best teaching and educational resources. The school aims to build confidence in its students, enabling them to access a wide range of degree courses at top universities. It is a college noted for its friendliness and informality and treats its students as young adults.

As part of the Alpha Plus Group, DLD College aims to maintain a ‘gold standard’ of educational quality. Classes are small, enabling students and teachers to focus upon the most effective ways of learning. Students are stretched and challenged, motivated to raise their own expectations of themselves.

The College offers superb, modern teaching accommodation and resources, a stone’s throw from Westminster Bridge and the Houses of Parliament. While the College is strong in all academic areas, the creative arts are especially successful and its theatre, art and design, music and photography studios are exceptional places. Its large sixth form enables the College to offer a wide range of subjects, supported by a strong welfare system and high quality higher education and careers advice.

For students requiring residential accommodation, DLD College provides over 200 rooms in our purpose built student residence directly above the College premises. The building is state of the art and equipped with modern technology. Students need to tap into every lesson, and parents are immediately notified if a student fails to sign in for a lesson.

Academically, the range of A-Levels available is very wide, with options ranging from Russian, Computer Science and Classical Civilisation to Further Maths and Theatre Studies. DLD students achieved 41% A-A* at A-Levels this year. A-Level students typically move on to Imperial College, LSE, Warwick University, UCL, King’s College, and a wide variety of other top UK universities. There is special support and preparation for those applying to medical schools in the UK.
